Black friday

Black friday a day after thanksgiving is a day where the stores have a lot of big sale. So I went shopping to get something for myself. And guess what I've got! A coach bag and a purse. I actually was not planning to get something expensive but because of the big sale then I decided to buy it. This is the most expensive bag I've got. I think I'm partly paying for the brand, - boooo... Okay, I think I deserve to try a branded bag once in my life. I also bought winter clothes from old navy. I love buying stuff at old navy, they're not too expensive. I also got one cute dress from H & M for $29.95. Well, I hope everybody who went shopping on black friday enjoyed the things they bought... Have a happy day everyone! :)

purse: original price $98, sale for $59, plus less 20% I payed $47.20

bag: original price $ 268, sale for $99, plus less 20%, I payed $79.20

Mga Bisdak!

Yesterday, I went out with my friend to visit her cousin in San Francisco. Her cousin invited her 2 bisaya friends to come over. Marge and I were watching tagalog movie while the other two were preparing food for our dinner. I was so happy meeting new people here not only that they can speak bisaya (my language) but they are also very funny. Looking forward on going out with them.

When you say thanksgiving, of course turkey is always there.

Pacman fight

Last saturday, my friend invited me and my husband to go to her husband's cousin's house to watch (pay per view) Pacquiao and Cotto's fight. At first we were debating if we're gonna go or not because we have to drive for 1 1/2 hour to get there. But since we don't have anything to do and was really want to watch pacman fight so we decided to go. There was a lot of filipinos there and of course foods too. The fight ended on 12th rounds, it was a good fight! We're all so happy that Pacman won! I can see it in each one of us that we are so proud to be a filipino and so happy for Pacquiao, he made us soooo proud! :)

Halloween 2009

I just stayed home on my first and second halloween here in the U.S. so I really wasn't able to see how people celebrate their halloween. This is my third halloween and it's saturday. My husband took me to San Francisco where you can see a lot of people wearing their nice costumes. Going to S.F. by BART I already saw funny costumes there and I enjoyed watching them. It was a happy halloween indeed! :)

A cup of coffee

When I was in Philippines I read a book about coffee. It says, that it is not good for your health, makes you look older than your age, addicted and etc. So, I tried to avoid drinking coffee.
Since I started studying for FPGEE (foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination) in the U.S. I started dringking coffee. I want something to keep me awake and one thing I know is coffee. I know that coffee is a stimulant and it is good for short term memory. I even heared that it is an antioxidant therefore, good for your health which is contradictory to what I'd read. Anyways, what was important to me was to study more materials as much as I can without feeling sleepy. I have been drinking coffee everyday since 2008. And now, I am addicted! I felt like my day is not complete without a cup of coffee! :)

Pregnancy Test

My husband and I decided to start making a baby! :) - reason #1: I already passed the FPGEE, reason #2: he just turn 40, reason #3: I'm turning 30. We need to hurry up and add one to our family.
This morning I picked up my pregnancy test just to check if I am pregnant. The reason why? --because I want to take a cough syrup which is I'm not sure if it's 100% safe for the fetus. I can't bear my cough anymore, I have been suffering since after our vacation in Hawaii until now. Good thing is the result of the pregnancy test is negative! Now, I can start taking my medicine... :)

Waikiki, Hawaii Vacation

Alooooha! :) I was talking about going to Hawaii on my past entry! My husband and I went to Waikiki 1 week after I took the FPGEE exam to unwind...
Hawaii is one of the best places to visit for a vacation. We stayed at Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach wherein at the front is the white sand beach and at the back is the shopping center, very accissible and convenient. It was a dream come true for me visiting their beautiful places/beaches. My husband and I enjoyed our 6-day-vacation. Here's our photos:

Waikiki Beach (I love swimming here, the water is warm & the sands is so powdery, wink!)

Hanauma Bay (known to be one of the best place in the whole world to go snorkling, I saw a lot of big, colorful fish there, they swim close to me!)

Me at Hanauma Bay :)

Dinner at Dukes with my elem-highschool classmate Marie and her husband Steve (the food is great! yum2x!)

Playing with the waves at North Shore (we had fun playing with the dog too, I don't know who's the owner of this black friendly dog, he enjoyed playing with the waves as much as I do, hehe)

Luau (very intertaining and there's a lot of good foods, yum! we're so full)

Paradise Cove Luau (pics with king and queen, haha!)

Diamond Head (it was a pretty good hiking, almost 1 hour to get on the top, the view up there is breathtaking)

Boat Sailing at Waikiki (turtle hunting! opps! I mean, we went out to the sea to go snorkling and hoping to see turtles!)

Here we go, swimming with huge turtle, I saw 6 turtles and a school of fish here, swam so close to them but we're not allowed to touch them, they are one of the endangered species!)

Upland Review

It has been 3 months that I wasn't able to write updates on my blog. I don't know where to start. There's a lot of happenings for just 3 months. Okay, let me start with my review class in Upland. Our teacher and all of the reviewee stayed in 1 house. We slept at the same house, buy groceries, cook our food, study together, eat together and etc. I think it was one of the best experiences I had here in the U.S. not only that I gained knowledge but also I gained a dozen of friends. I had such great memories there. --- Now, we are waiting for the results of our exam! :)

Here are some of the pictures I have...
We are all filipino pharmacist in the Philippines and aspiring to be a Pharmacist here in the U.S. that is why we are reviewing for the FPGEE (Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Exam)... Most of us are already a certified pharmtech in America and some are working at Walgreens, RiteAid and CVS Pharmacy... Way to go guys!

FPGEE Review Class

Finally received a letter today that our scheduled dates for the FPGEE (Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Equivalency Exam) review course have been confirmed. Time to get a ticket. I'll be leaving here in bay area with a friend Margaret on August 8 to Upland California and will be back on the 23rd of August. It will be a 2-week extensive review and I am looking forward to learn more and meeting new people here who are also a pharmacist in Philippines. Thanks to Dr. Imasa who decided to come here just to give us a review... Wish me a goodluck! :)

In-N-Out Burger

In-N-Out burger is one of my favorite fast food here in California. The service is fast and I love the burger + fries + coke = burp! I usually put pepper and salt on my fries, very yummy!

An interesting thing to note about In-N-Out Burger are the references to Bible verses that they print in hidden locations on their food packaging, like the infamous "John 3:6" that is printed on the bottom of their cups.

Thai Salad

Got another home made salad with shrimp for today...

Happy 2nd Anniversary 07/07/09

My husband and I went out to my favorite Bangkok Garden thai restaurant last night to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. Wow! I've been happily married for 2 years now and and am still counting for more years to come. I am a firm believer in blessings and I have had so many blessings in my life -- my husband is one of them. I love my husband so much, he is all that I wanted to be with for the rest of my life. I couldn't imagine how my life would be without him. Since he came into my life, my life started to change for more better. Being with the right person really make a lot of difference in life! I remember when I prayed to God so hard -- asking for the man that he prepares for me, I felt so empty at those time. But when I met my husband for the first time, the feeling just came out unexpectedly wonderful. Yes, God answered my prayers and I am so happy and thankful for that. I always praise Him because He is my God. May He continue to bless us more everyday...

Photos below are the thai foods, they're so yummy...
